I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO# 11951). I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and specialized training in trauma and couples therapy. I have built a strong foundation of experience working with a variety of clients, supporting individuals and couples in navigating a wide range of mental health challenges in group practice settings. I'm committed to delivering professional, evidence-based care for all clients with compassion and respect for individual journeys.

I'm a dedicated therapist, wife and mom of four. Becoming a parent has profoundly deepened my curiosity of the complexities of human emotions and relationships. Navigating the challenges of parenting has taught me the value of fostering healthy relationships—both with ourselves and those we love. Through the years my passion has grown to help others find balance, connection, and emotional wellness in their lives. I am a deep thinker, a lifelong learner, and I love what I do.

About me

My Therapeutic Approach

In my practice, I use a variety of evidence-based approaches to support individual and couples’ growth. For individual therapy, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process trauma and emotional distress, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to deal with difficult emotions in healthier ways, and take steps toward your goals. For couples, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring you have the tools and support for lasting change.

The therapeutic relationship is at the core of meaningful healing. It’s not just about the techniques or tools we use, it’s also the trust, connection, and safety that we build together.

This relationship creates a safe space for you to explore your emotions, challenges, and goals without judgment. While therapy often involves deep and challenging emotions, together we'll create a space where you can be yourself, and that includes moments of laughter along the way.

I am committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ clients, and individuals from all backgrounds and identities.

What is EMDR?

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic memories. During EMDR sessions, you’ll recall distressing events while following bilateral stimulation (such as tapping, sounds, or therapist hand movements). This process helps reduce the emotional charge of the memories, making them easier to manage.

The goal of EMDR is to help you gain a new perspective on past experiences, reduce symptoms of anxiety and PTSD, and foster healing. It’s an effective treatment for those who have experienced trauma, helping you move forward.

Who can benefit from EMDR?

EMDR is especially effective for individuals dealing with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties related to distressing memories. It can be beneficial for people of all ages.

How many sessions of EMDR will I need?

The number of sessions varies based on individual needs and the complexity of the issues being addressed. Some people may notice improvements in just a few sessions, while others might need more time.

Can EMDR be used alongside other therapies?

Yes, EMDR can compliment other therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness techniques, to enhance overall treatment effectiveness.
